Côlab
Côlab is a Dallas-based collective of Vietnamese women artists working across multimedia, performance, and emerging technologies. Founded by Bao Tran Vo, Diamond Nguyen, and Kristen Duong, we create collaborative projects that explore identity, cultural memory, and emotional connection.
Mission
To dream boldly and build collectively.
Côlab exists to nurture a space where underrepresented voices are amplified through experimental, interdisciplinary art. We curate exhibitions, performances, and communal events that invite participation, reflection, and connection. Through collaboration, we grow not only as artists but as a supportive ecosystem of thinkers, makers, and feelers.
Vision
A world where art dissolves borders — between disciplines, between cultures, and between people. We envision an artistic future shaped by collective care, where imagination is not limited by expectation, and community becomes both the canvas and the audience. We aim to cultivate a cultural presence where our perspectives are not only seen but also deeply felt.
Values
- Collaboration as Creation: We believe the most powerful art arises when we create together, with mutual respect, shared purpose, and open hearts.
- Radical Imagination: We honor ideas that feel impossible, surreal, or ahead of their time, believing that dreaming is a form of resistance and renewal.
- Cultural Memory: Our work is grounded in our Vietnamese heritage and diasporic experience, honoring ancestral wisdom while shaping contemporary narratives.
- Embodiment & Emotion: We use technology as a poetic extension of the self, not for precision, but for presence.
- Growth Through Sharing: We learn, mentor, and evolve together. Every show, every project is a seed for someone else's bloom.
Impact
Through inclusive programming and interdisciplinary projects, Côlab nurtures a community of artists who dare to feel deeply, challenge boundaries, and create meaning together.
